Brooke comes from a family that believes strongly in the Republican Party. She has been away from her family for about six years. She returns to California, where she is from, to see her family. Krista Apple: I play Brooke, who is a writer and lives in New York City. Kelli Curtin: Could you tell me a little about Other Desert Cities, and what audiences can expect? She talks to me about her character, Brooke, in Other Desert Cities and how she prepared for this role. This is Apple’s Mainstage debut at the Walnut Street Theatre, but she was in the Independence Studio’s production of Proof in 2012. I had a chance to speak with Krista Apple who plays Brooke in this production of Other Desert Cities.
